Citizen Safety CCW Course

Citizen Safety CCW Course

This course does not allow citizens to carry concealed on the Missouri State University campus. In addition, this course does not issue CCW permits. CCW permits are issued through the surrounding county sheriffs' offices at an additional fee.

Location

Jim D. Morris Center, 301 S. Jefferson Room #410, Springfield
The Morris Center is located at the SW corner of Jefferson and McDaniel, next door to the Dairy Queen.

Parking

Parking is available on the street, or in Lot 40, at the NW corner of Jefferson and McDaniel.

Lunch Break

There will be a short lunch break. You are welcome to bring a lunch and use our kitchen facilities, or there are several sandwich shops just around the corner from the Morris Center on Walnut Street.

PLEASE NOTE: No live ammunition or weapons are to be brought into the Morris Center for the classroom session. Following the classroom training, a one-time permit will be issued that ONLY allows the transportation of firearms from your vehicle to the firing range. The instructors will escort you to the Hammons Student Center where the firing range is located. 

Materials/Supplies

Each person will need to bring:

  • A Semi-automatic and Revolver
  • 80 rounds of ammunition (no reloads--factory only) for Semi-automatic
  • 80 rounds of ammunition (no reloads--factory only) for the Revolver
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Target/Range Ammo

Fees:

$100 / person, $75 / student with Missouri State ID
