Course Description:

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Missouri State Outreach Noncredit Programs and the Missouri Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance collaboratively present the 15th annual Quality Health and Physical Education Workshop for 2012. 

This workshop will offer a full day of quality professional development designed primarily for PK-12 health educators and physical educators.

This activity based workshop will include:

  • Innovative activities that model effective teaching and formative assessment
  • Identification of resources for classroom, curriculum and program funding opportunities
  • An opportunity to tackle “The Big D”…defending and proactively promoting the importance of your programs, as well as discussion about local, state, and national trends and issues such as PE2020, legislative activity and MSIP 5. 

Topics include:

  • Cross curricular learning and assessment
  • Identifying and dealing with health issues that impact student learning
  • Structured recess
  • New portion plate
  • Using phone apps in physical education
