Knitting & Crocheting

Discover the possibilities with some sticks and string! These ancient arts have gone from functional to just plain fun! Learn the basic techniques for both handcrafts, practice basic stitches and learn to read patterns, and get the secrets to fixing problem areas. Students will learn the skills to get started with these portable projects, and be inspired to create gifts for family and friends.
About The Presenter Karen Nelson
Karen Nelson is an honors graduate of Missouri State University, and teaches a variety of age groups in subjects ranging from literacy and creativity, to technical skills in the fiber arts. She currently works as the curriculum coordinator for Goldminds Publishing, and as editor for two publications - Flash Fiction Chronicles, and Gravel (University of Arkansas). She has formerly taught in the public schools and owned an arts studio, before expanding her writing career. She serves on the board for several arts and community organizations, and enjoys teaching workshops for children and adults while homeschooling her two children on their hobby farm.
